The past couple weeks I had been feeling SO tired. Unbelievably tired. To the point where I wasn’t sure I could get out of bed anymore. It got so bad, that I knew I needed to make a change. I decided to kick it into high gear and get back to the gym.
Three years ago I was obsessed with the gym. I went 6 days a week, and ultimately lost 47 lbs. I was running, biking, taking zumba classes, and lifting weights. I felt strong and confident for the first time in my life. I slowly stopped going to the gym and concentrating on my diet as much, and it’s easy to let life get in the way.
I recently joined Quad Spin with my bestie Doug, and I feel like it has jump started my love for working out all over again. Quad is a lot of fun, its really challenging, but when I leave I know I’ve worked out incredibly hard, and I feel amazing! I’ve also just joined Class Pass, which is a really cool program that lets you try out different classes and studios across the city, without committing to one particular gym. I’m really excited to try out some different classes and get outside my comfort zone.
You don’t feel complete during a workout if you’re not wearing your cutest outfit. I LOVE the clothes that Joe Fresh has to offer. Their leggings are $24/Cdn, super comfy, and come in a zillion different colours. I’m also a huge fan of their tank tops, they’re inexpensive ($16/Cdn) and also come in a variety of colours. I cannot LIVE without my FitBit One. I take it absolutely everywhere. It helps me stay on task with my steps, and it motivates me to go further each and every day. My Swell bottle is life, I love how cold it keeps my water. And finally, my Nike Juvenate‘s are the best shoe I’ve bought in years ($115/Cdn). They’re super lightweight, they slip on with no laces, and how freaking cute is this bright orangy-coral colour?
I’m not sure I’ll be able to loose 47 lbs again, but I have gotten back into my old habits of eating healthy and hitting the gym! I’m feeling better than I have in months, and starting to feel like my old self again. I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring! Stay tuned for some more updates as I get back on the fitness train!
