If you haven’t heard about Becca Cosmetic’s Highlighters, then you must be living under a rock. Everyone in the beauty community raves about them, and they truly are beautiful. I picked up Opal (a golden pearl colour) about a year and half ago, and I’ve been enjoying it everyday since. They retail for $46/Cdn, come in a variety of colours to suit your skintone, and are the perfect shimmer to give yourself a summer glow all year round.
I’ve been a HUGE Jaclyn Hill fan for about 3 years now. I love watching her YouTube videos, she is drop dead gorgeous, she’s funny and relatable, and she knows her makeup. When I saw last summer that she was coming out with a Becca Highlighter called Champagne Pop, I was really jealous since I already had Opal and they’re very close in colour, I couldn’t justify purchasing another shade. Until a few weeks ago…
Jaclyn had been teasing for weeks that something exciting was coming, and then one day on her Snapchat, she shared her new Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette, and I instantly wanted it. The packaging was gorgeous, it had Champagne Pop and a new limited edition highlighter and three blushes. I figured the palette was going to set me back some cash money since it had two full size highlighters (at $46 a pop!) plus three blushes, and was dying to see what the cost was. I told myself if it was over $60, I really didn’t need it… Then one day, I’m on Snapchat and I see Sephora and Jaclyn are snapping about her launch party in NYC and if you go on the Sephora mobile app and type in #ChampagneGlow, there was a limited quantity of face palette’s available a week early.. So I hoped on the app, and there was the palette, for an early release for $59/Cdn (amazing!! and $1 below my budget). Into my cart it went, and within two days I was opening the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette! Kudos to Sephora for their speedy delivery, even though I never pay for express!
It’s safe to say I’m already really obsessed with this palette. The colours are beautiful, and it’s honestly PERFECT for summer. The Champagne Pop highlighter is a light golden colour, and adds the perfect glow to your face. Prosecco Pop is a true gold colour, and it’s extremely unique, and I’m honestly obsessed with it. The blushes are all very different from each other, and couldn’t have come out at a better time. I had been contemplating buying a Becca blush as I’d never tried them before, and they all looked so beautiful that I couldn’t decided which to buy! So I figured this set was the perfect time to try out a few shades. The Jaclyn Hill palette includes Rose Spritz, Amaretto and Pamplemousse, they’re all equally gorgeous. The blushes are all very blendable, go on the skin nicely, and are great summertime shades.
From left to right: Rose Spritz, Amaretto, Pamplemousse, Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop.
Here I am wearing Rose Spritz with Champagne Pop. I love the bright cheek and glowing highlight.
Here I have on Amaretto and Prosecco Pop. I like Amaretto a lot because it blends well into my contour and just adds a small pop of colour. I also have Prosecco pop on my eye lids!
Out to run errands, I put on a touch of Amaretto, as it does a great job bronzing up the skin and just added a quick flush of colour. I also have on a touch of Champagne Pop here!
Above I have on Pamplemousse with a mix between Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop. I love this blush, it’s such a fun colour, and I think it’s great that mixing the two highlighters creates a fun new one!
I’ve been wearing this palette for a few weeks now and the combinations, and the ability to mix the shades together, are endless. I love to place my highlight on my cheek bones, above my eyebrows on my forehead, and the tip of my nose. But I think the two highlighters also make great eyeshadows on the lid or a brow bone highlight, and amaretto can be used in the crease.
I’m really glad I made this purchase, as it’s the perfect palette to add to my summer makeup routine! I love Jaclyn and am happy to support her, I know she cares about her fans and creating the best product out there. Becca always does an unbelievable job with their products, and not to mention packaging (how cute is the white and gold of this palette?!). All of the Becca x Jaclyn products sold out immediately, but they’re back in stock June 16 on Sephora.com! Make sure to pick something up from Jaclyn’s collection, and get your summer glow on!
