I was super excited to get home the other day to a package, and to my surprise it was the Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara. I have never tried out any “high end” mascaras before, in fact my favourites were the L’Oreal Voluminous for YEARS, then the Too Faced Better Than Sex, and now I am loving the L’Oreal Lash Paradise! So I was really eager to put this to the test!
The Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara retails for $38/Cdn on the Sephora site, and promises to make your lashes look like they have extensions and create buildable volume! The brush is bendable to 90°, and is really unique, as it can be difficult to get all your lashes, especially in the inner corners.
So! I put it to the test. I have been wearing this mascara for a few weeks, its super black, easy to use, separates and lengthens, and is very buildable. However, it’s missing what I love most in a mascara, and that’s fluffy volume. The reason I love the L’Oreal and Too Faced mascaras mentioned above is the brush is fat and fluffy, and it makes your lashes look super full. These are my favourite type of brushes, and I always feel like it makes my lashes look the best. Here’s pics of one and two coats, plus looking down. They look great, but not exactly how I love my lashes to look!
All in all, really nice mascara. It really depends on the type of brush and look you love. If you like long separated lashes, this is a great one to try. Also good if you like an easy brush that will really get in there and define your lashes. I think that $38/Cdn is actually a pretty reasonable price for a designer mascara, and I’d give this a recommendation to anyone looking for that type of brush!
Big thanks to my friends at Canadian Beauty Bloggers for hooking me up with this guy, was super fun to try!
