A few weeks ago my hair was in desperate need of some TLC. It was so dry and straw-like, I wasn’t sure exactly how this happened. The past year or so, I’ve been pretty good at only washing my hair 2-3 times a week, I rarely blow dry, and I use a leave in conditioner. My routine is typically Day 1: straightened, Day 2: curl with wand, Day 3: keep rocking Day 2’s curls. The scary pic below is after sleeping with a messy bun.
I decided to pop into Winners and see what they had to offer. I like buying my haircare products there since it’s relatively inexpensive for huge bottles (I got two huge Bed Head Dumb Blonde Shampoo & Conditioners there a year ago for $14.99/each, and they’re still going strong!)
The Winners had an Argan Magic Restorative Hair Mask for $9.99/Cdn, and since it was the only brand I recognized, I purchased it. The Hair Mask promises to revive luster and manageability, hydrate and help repair dry, damaged hair, and nourish hair with an intense dose of therapeutic ingredients.
It says on the back of the jar to towel dry your hair and then apply this, and then rinse, but who has time for that? I washed my hair with my Dumb Blonde Shampoo, I tried my best to get as much water out as I could, and then I took a massive scoop of the hair mask and massaged it into my dry, damaged, sad hair. It says to leave on for 5-10 minutes, I went with 10. This may seem like a long time, but by the time you wash your face, body, shave your legs and sing a little song, your hair is ready to be rinsed out.
I let my hair dry naturally, took to my straightener the next morning, and voila! My hair felt really nice and smooth, it was shiny, and it even smelt nice!
I think this mask did a great job, and I would totally recommend trying it. But since I purchased it from Winners, and it was only 10 bucks, I wouldn’t limit myself with this one, and I will probably try another brand next time. But it’s great to know that even when your hair feels like straw, it’s only one wash away from feeling like it’s normal self again!
What brand of hair mask should I try next? Let me know below in the comments!
