About a week before Christmas I caved and ordered the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. The hype around this palette was huge, and I bought right into it.. Fortunately I LOVE it, but then a week later when Christmas rolled around and I received another Too Faced palette (which I also love!), I realized – Brittany, you have a problem. I have SO much makeup that I don’t even know what to do with it half the time. I have samples coming out the yingyang, and stuff I’ve never even tried in a storage closet…
So, I challenged myself for a two month “no buy”! All of January and February, I had to work really hard to get rid of as many samples and use up as many products as I had lying around that I was dying to throw out, as well as not purchase anything new. I forced myself to just use what I had, instead of buying yet another product. Two things in particular I was dying to purchase was a new mascara and moisturizer! But more on that later, as I continue to do monthly product empties blog posts! March 1 rolled around, I got to work, and the first thing I did was open up Sephora.ca to make an online order! Take a look at my latest Sephora haul!
I needed a new mascara in the worst way. I was using the Wet n Wild Lash Renegade Mascara that I got for free, and I really wasn’t enjoying. I couldn’t wait to purchase a new Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($30/Cdn). It’s the BEST mascara I have ever used, it makes my lashes so dark and full of volume, I love it so much! When my package arrived on Friday, I was so excited to do my makeup for the weekend!
Another empty I will have for March is the 2-oz sample of the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream ($37/Cdn). I LOVED this sample when I got it from a previous order. It is the perfect cream to apply before bed to really hydrate your skin. The 8-oz tube came in the mail last week, I couldn’t believe how huge it was, it will last a lifetime! I’m also curious to see if this will be too heavy for the summer months, but for the rest of the colder season, I will be loving it!
I was excited to see that Sephora had some really great options for samples when I went to check out. For those of you unfamiliar, Sephora offers 3 free samples of products when you order online. I chose the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser, as I love the cream so much, I figured this would be great to try. I also got the Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer, this is a clear gel that you apply over any lipstick to instantly make it matte! Next up, I got the Benefit POREfessional: Matte Rescue Invisible Finish Mattifying Gel, which I’ve been really interested to try! And finally, I redeemed 500 points for the Clinique Pep Start kit which I thought was really cute and would be fun to try. It includes their 2-in-1 cleanser, moisturizer, eye cream and a mini mascara! I will of course be reviewing all the samples in an upcoming blog post.
Have you ever tried a “no buy” challenge before? What did you splurge on once you were done?
