My Go-to Travel Essentials!

Today I want to talk about my travel essentials! This week I headed down south to sunny Fort Lauderdale, and although it would be nice, I couldn’t take my entire makeup collection with me. I had to pick and choose my essential items that would get me through the week, and I wanted to share them with you!  These are the top products I cannot leave the country without!

I was really lucky to receive Influenster’s L’Oreal Paris Rivitalift Voxbox a few weeks back (you can read my thoughts here!), which happened at the perfect time as I was looking for some new day/night creams to try out. The one I received included an SPF 30, and I knew this was the perfect day cream to bring on my trip to Florida. I wore it everyday (along with my trusty Blue Jays hat), and I did not burn my face! I am usually sporting a Rudolph nose after any amount of time in the sun, so this will definitely be added to my travel essentials going forward! (L’Oreal Paris Rivitalift Bright Reveal Daily Lotion retails for $21/CDN)

I intended to wear my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation as it has been my go-to foundation for many years now, and figured it would keep me flawless all week in the heat.. However, when I went to get ready for dinner on the first night there, I realized I’d forgotten to bring any foundation at all (crazy, I know!). The Double Wear Foundation is truly my favourite, it keeps you matte, and it lasts well over 12 hours, even in high temperatures, and will always be my #1 travel foundation. I decided to take this “opportunity” of not having my fave foundation around to pick up somethings I’ve been wanting to try. I headed to CVS and Ulta and picked up the L’Oreal Lumi Cushion and the L’Oreal Infalliable Pro Glow foundation, I will have reviews on those in the coming weeks! Double Wear continues to be my fave, and I’ll bring it on my travels next time! (Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation retails for $46/CDN)

The Mac Refined Golden Bronzing Powder is the PERFECT bronzer for when you’re tanned. I knew I’d be getting back to my summer shade this week in the Florida sun, so it made an appearance in my makeup bag, and I’m glad it did! Once I applied my foundation and concealer, I needed the dark bronzer to bring me back to life! It’s not the perfect colour for my winter skin, but for spending time in the sun, Refined Golden is my go-to shade! (Mac Cosmetics Refined Golden Bronzing Powder retails for $32/CDN)

Jaclyn Hill really hit the nail on the head with her Becca Cosmetics Champagne Collection this past summer. I was lucky enough to get her limited edition Face Palette that features three blushes (Rose Spritz, Pamplemouse and Amerato) and two highlights (the infamous Champagne Pop and the new Prosecco Pop), and I am seriously obsessed with it. It’s a little clunky for travel, but when you think that you have three really wearable blushes, and two highlight options, you realize it’s a must for your makeup bag. I love a glowy highlight when I’m tanned, and I’m so glad I brought this down south with me. (The Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette was limited edition and is sold out)

I am 100% addicted to the Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette. I wanted this palette SOOO badly, and was lucky enough to receive it for my birthday; not a day goes by that I don’t use it. I am so obsessed with the shade funny girl, it is the perfect shimmery gold for your lid, then I mix smarty pants & rebel in my crease, activist & leader on my lower lash line and I’m good to go for an everyday look! I also love the shades rocker and firecracker, so occasionally will swap these for the lid colour. The Tartelette palette is seriously perfect for any look you may want while travelling. (Tartelette in Bloom Palette retails for $54/CDN)

My other travel essentials are my everyday go-to’s that I’ve talked about many times. But for the sake of this being a blog post about my favourites while travelling, I couldn’t live with out the NYX Matte Liquid Liner, the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade and the Tarte Tartiest Lash Paint Mascara while I was away in Florida this week.

What are your go-to travel makeup products?

I’m just winging it. My life, my eyeliner, everything!
