On Sunday nights I like to shower, do a face mask, whiten my teeth, and just overall prepare for the coming week. It helps me feel fresh on Monday mornings, the toughest day of the week. Today I’m going to share my routine for every night of the week!
My evening starts by taking off my makeup. The second I walk in the door from work, I’m usually excited to grab a wipe and take the day off. I am OBSESSED with the Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes from Costco! My mom got me hooked on these, and they’re seriously the best wipes in the game. They come with 5 packages of 30 wipes for $12/Cdn, which is incredible because before that I was buying a $10 25-pack from Shoppers. These are super moist, feel amazing on your face, and get everything off with one wipe! I highly recommend adding these to your daily routine!
After I wash my face (I have too many face washes to keep track!), I apply my Olay Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream and the Olay Age Defying Eye Cream. These both retailed for around $15/Cdn, and I opted for something on the lower end scale because this was my first dabble in anti-aging products. I woke up one morning in April, after my 26th birthday, and realized I don’t want to look old! I’ve been using these religiously for 3 months now and I absolutely LOVE them!! My undereyes have never been softer, and that makes a huge difference when applying my concealer. I just feel like overall my face feels better, and when I wake up in the AM, it still feels super hydrated from applying the night before. After my stint with eczema over the winter, I’ve been taking extra care of my face. I really enjoy both of these creams, and I’ll be picking up another round once they run out.
Next up, I like to whiten my teeth once a week. I usually do this about an hour before bedtime, and I let the trays sit in for 30-40 minutes. I’ve been whitening my teeth for years, and the dentist tells me “they can’t go any whiter, Brittany!” But it makes me feel good, and maybe I’m helping keep up the bright white, okay?! I got my trays made at my dentist, and I buy the syringes of whitening gel off of him for $20/tube. The tubes last about 8 whitening sessions, so it’s fairly inexpensive! The brand I use is PolaWhite.
I get made fun of for this next one…but when I’m 75, and my skin looks 25, who is going to be laughing? I am obsessed with Gold Bond. I had really dry arms in the winter, and when visiting my parents for the weekend, my mom gave me Gold Bond to try, and my friend Amanda thought this was hilarious. Then rolls around my birthday, and she picked me up my very own bottle of the Gold Bond Ultimate Moisturizing Skin Therapy Lotion, $16/Cdn, and I can’t tell you how quickly I’ve gone through this bottle. It makes my skin so soft the next day, and it makes me happy to know that my skin is hydrated! This one is pretty thick, but it feels good on the skin. I highly recommend it, I know I’ll be obsessed with it once winter rolls around.
Right before bed I like to spritz my face with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray, this stuff is AMAZING. You can read my full blog post on it here, but I seriously am obsessed with how hydrating it is, the smell, and the price! I feel like it gives me that extra boost of hydration for my beauty sleep. And you seriously cannot beat that beautiful smell!
My very last step before I turn out the lights, and I cannot LIVE without this step, is applying a thick layer of Burt’s Bee’s Beeswax Lip Balm. I’ve been a loyal fan of this lip balm for over 10 years, I can’t even imagine how many I’ve been through. I keep one on my bedside table, one in my purse, one at my parents house, one at my desk, and I always have spares ready for when one runs out. I like to buy the two pack at Shoppers for $8.99/Cdn, that way I know I always have an extra! I apply it before bed, and when I wake up, I can still feel it on my lips. I also love the minty tingling feeling!
That wraps up my night time routine. These steps make me feel clean, hydrated, and ready to sleep! I’m always looking to try new things though, what’s your go-to night time product you can’t live without?
