My Skincare Routine!

Over the past year I have been really focusing on skincare. Last winter I struggled with eczema for months, and when it finally cleared up, I promised myself I would never let my face get dehydrated again. I haven’t always been great with my skincare routine. Back in high school I could not care less about my skin, I went to bed with mascara on, never applied a moisturizer or even sunscreen, so I feel really lucky that my skin is in pretty great shape now that I’m in my mid 20s.  I didn’t wear as much makeup back then as I do today, but I want to ensure I can keep my skin looking fresh the rest of my life!

Back in July I shared my nighttime routine, and much of it is still pretty similar, but I want to share my morning, night and some things I do a few times a week, as well as my favourite products!

First thing I do is remove my makeup with Kirkland Facial Wipes ($12/Cdn) from Costco. My mom got me on to these, and they’re seriously the best. You get four 30 packs for $12, they stay wet throughout the entire package so you’re not left with dry ones at the end, and they take off ALL your makeup. I love them!

Next up I wash my face with the L’Oreal Revitalift Cleanser ($12/Cdn). I was lucky enough to receive this from Influenster, but again, my mom is also a fan, so I received one in my stocking at Christmas and I’m ready to rock when my first one runs out. I really like this face wash, it leaves my skin completely clean and soft.

Remember Oxy Pads from high school? Well they’re back, and L’Oreal makes a better version that deep clean and get all that remaining makeup off. The L’Oreal Revitalift Peel Pads ($15/Cdn) are the BEST! I can’t live without these!

Last April when I turned 26 I knew I wanted to start prepping my skin for wrinkles, and I didn’t really know where to turn…so I went to Shoppers and picked up the Olay Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream ($12/Cdn). I really do enjoy this eye cream, I think it was the perfect place to start with eye skincare. It also has lasted me almost an entire year as you only need a little dab!

I LOVE this face cream. The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream ($43/Cdn) is so thick that when you wake up in the morning, your skin feels so amazing and hydrated. I got the 2oz sample from Sephora a few months ago, and it completely made me fall in love. I am curious to see if it works well for me in the summer though.

Next up, if I have any blemishes, I will attempt to kill them off with the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ($17/Cdn). This is a mix of salicylic acid and calamine, and it seriously works. I just dip a q-tip in and apply to pimples, and voila, they’re all dried up!

While purchasing the Drying Lotion, I noticed the Mario Badescu Facial Spray beside it, and it was only $7/Cdn so I thought what the heck? I LOVE THIS SPRAY. It feels SO amazing on your skin, very hydrating, and it smells amazing.

Once a week I like to use an oil to really lock in hydration to my skin. The one I’ve been using for the past couple months is the Korres Wild Rose Brightening Oil ($54/Cdn). Again, it smells AMAZING, and leaves the skin feeling nice and moisturized the next morning.

I love to use sheet masks, they’re the easiest, and most relaxing way to get hydration into your skin. Whenever I’m in Sephora (or even Winners!) I try to pick up a few sheet masks to always have on hand. Some of my favourites (because of the cute packaging) are the Tony Moly Sheet Masks ($5/Cdn).

Every Sunday night I love to use my Clarisonic Mia 2 ($200). It really deep scrubs into my skin, and I know it’s prepping my face for the week ahead. I also feel like it deep cleans the weekend off 😉.

I cannot sleep unless I have slathered Burt’s Bees ($6/Cdn) on my lips. I have been using this for as long as I can remember, and I’m sure I’ve gone through about 50 tubes! I keep one on my bedside table, purse, desk at work, bathroom, and I always have extras in my cupboard for when I run out! I love it so much.

The last thing I use before I go to bed gets a lot of laughs… I am completely obsessed with Gold Bond Ultimate Healing with Aloe cream ($10/Cdn). It makes my arms and legs so soft, I have recommended it to so many people. I don’t care if you laugh at me, my body is moisturized and soft 😂!

We cannot forget before we put on our full face of makeup. Lately, since it was sent to me from Influenster, I’ve been loving the L’Oreal Revitalift Moisturizer ($22/Cdn). It is lightweight, but still has an SPF so I know I’m protecting my skin from sunlight.

And that’s it for how I keep my skin looking healthy, hydrated and smooth! What are your favourite skincare products? Tell me in the comments!

I’m just winging it. My life, my eyeliner, everything!
