On Thursday evening I received an invitation to attend a special Shiseido event to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). I have never been to the AGO before, and I think Shiseido creates wonderful products, so I was very excited for their event! Shiseido teamed up with a Canadian artist, Alexandra Mackenzie, who designed limited edition packaging for their Eudermine Revitalizing Essence ($92/Cdn). The packaging is behind me in this photo below!
The event had some new makeup and skincare on display, as well as a makeup artist doing touch-ups and testing new products. The new Inkstroke Eyeliner, Rouge Rouge lipstick, and the Paperweight Cream Eye Colours.
The Inkstroke Eyeliner is a brand new liner that is inspired by Japanese calligraphy, with a creamy smooth texture, and an ultra-fine brush. The Eyeliner will be available in 6 shades. The Rouge Rouge Lipstick is a creamy texture that feels really nice on the lips, but has a matte finish. The lipstick is now available in 8 new shades. Lastly the Paperweight Cream Eye Colour is a translucent cream eyeshadow that comes in 8 fun colours.
It was really fun to get to hear about the new products from the Shiseido makeup artist and get to try it on. He put the purple Paperweight Cream Eye Colour on my lid, it was really pretty.
The event ended with an amazzzzzzing swag bag! Shiseido makes really amazing skincare, so I was excited to receive these amazing products! I received the Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate ($116/Cdn) in an Influenster box a few months ago, and really enjoyed it. It’s super hydrating and I’m thrilled to now own a big size to add into my everyday skincare routine. The Eudermine Revitalizing Essence ($78/Cdn) is not something I have tried before, but it feels like a really nice toner, so I am also enjoying it (and the limited edition packaging!). They also included the Shiseido Facial Cotton pads ($11/Cdn) which are very fancy, and perfect for applying the Essence. The eyeliner, lipstick, and paperweight cream eye colour are not yet in stores (launching in the Fall!), but I received the eyeliner in Kuromitsu Brown, lipstick in Dusky Honey and the eye colour in Usuzumi Beige Gray. I’m wearing the eyeliner and the lipstick in the photo below.
After viewing the new products, we went upstairs and walked around the gallery. It was a really nice event and I’m glad I got to go! Have you tried any Shiseido products? Tell me in the comments!
