Shiseido Ibuki Survival Kit: Product Review

I just love Influenster! I’ve been part of their program for over a year now, and I’ve gotten so many great things! When I saw I was going to be sent this Shiseido Skincare VoxBox I was so excited because I’ve never tried any Shiseido products before, and one of my girlfriends raves about Japanese skincare!

In this box I received the Shiseido Ibuki Smart Filtering Smoother, Ibuki Beauty Sleeping Mask, Ibuki Quick Fix Mist, Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate, and a 3 day sample of the Power Infusing Concentrate to mail to a friend!

I started off with the Ibuki Sleeping Mask ($48/Cdn) which is an overnight mask that you leave on while you sleep to soak into the skin, helping you wake up looking beautiful and radiant. Shiseido markets it as a “full night sleep in a jar”, which I think is funny (and great!). I spent some time outside last weekend, and accidentally burnt my face (oops!), so this was actually the perfect thing to apply to tone down the redness, and hydrate my skin back to normal. I really enjoyed this, and would like to try it again!

The next morning I tried the Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate before applying my makeup. This made my face feel really hydrated before foundation. The only downside to this product is the price of it, $116/Cdn, which is not something I’m willing to drop $ on! I also applied this before bed a few nights, and its a really nice serum for nighttime. They included a little sample with postcard and stamp attached to it to mail to a friend, which I thought was so genius for sharing! I have mailed this off to someone, so stay tuned if you’re reading this 😉.

The Ibuki Quick Fix Mist ($32/Cdn) I thought was just ok. I applied overtop of makeup and as a hydrating boost before bed, and I am just really in love with the Mario Badescu spray, so I don’t think I would recommend the Shiseido version.

Finally, my favourite product of the set was the Ibuki Smart Filtering Smoother ($29/Cdn). This product was so unique, and unlike anything I’ve ever tried. I started by applying a few drops of it to my fingers and applying along my nose as I figured it was a pore filling primer, and I was going to tape it in. But then I realized that it had a almost cloudy paste like texture to it, and then all of a sudden it was dry. I knew right away that this was going to combat any oil that my nose produced during the day, so I decided to test it with my most dewy foundation. Voila! It kept my skin so matte and no oil poked through at any point of the day. It also helped keep foundation in place all day. I would HIGHLY recommend this product if you have any oily areas on your face. I think it’s amazing! I will be repurchasing a bottle of this once this bottle is done!

It was really fun to try out some new skincare products that I otherwise would never have picked up myself. Big thank you to Shiseido + Influenster for sending me these products to test! I received these products complimentary to review.  #photoreadyskin #contest

I’m just winging it. My life, my eyeliner, everything!
