Tarte Shape Tape Vs. Too Faced Born This Way Concealer

Hi y’all! This was a very requested blog post (hey, Meg!), and I was also dying to compare the two. Tarte Shape Tape vs. Too Faced Born This Way Concealer. They’re both VERY popular concealers in the beauty community, I’ve been a Shape Tape fan for a while now, so I just needed to know! What will it be!? Who will win?

Let’s start with Tarte Shape Tape. I’ve been a huge fan of this concealer since it launched a few years ago, going through multiple tubes of it. I absolutely love it. I love how big the wand is, it’s an amazing full-coverage finish, and it lasts all day long on me. I like the shade “Light” for my undereye, and either “Light Neutral” or “Light Medium” for blemishes on my skin. This concealer retails for $35/Cdn and has 10 mL in the tube. You can only purchase this from Tarte.com.

Now on to Too Faced Born This Way Concealer. This is a very similar concealer, hence why are they are compared so much! It’s very full coverage and lasts on me all day long as well! When I apply this, it feels very hydrating, which is awesome, as a lot of reviews mention that Tarte is too drying on them. The wand is a bit smaller, but still a very large style compared to past concealers I’ve tried. I use the shade “Vanilla” and it is comparable to the “Light” from Tarte.  This concealer is available on Sephora.com, retails for $36/Cdn, and has 15 mL in the tube (it’s huge!).

I am wearing both concealers in the below photos. On the left (my right) is the Too Faced, and on the right (my left) is the Tarte.

Now on to the verdict… I really, really like the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer. I love the size of the bottle, it feels hydrating when applying, especially when you are tired in the morning, the coverage is awesome, and it’s available in Canada! However, as you can tell in the above photos (I tried on both eyes), the Too Faced concealer is super crease-y on me! I’ve used loose setting powders, baking, and nothing seems to work. With that said, the Tarte Shape Tape concealer is the winner here for me! I definitely think the Too Faced is worth purchasing, I really enjoyed it, but when it comes down to how my face looks, Tarte’s the winner for me.

Have you tried either of these concealers? What did you think in the battle of Tarte Shape Tape vs. Too Faced Born This Way Concealer? Tell me in the comments!

I’m just winging it. My life, my eyeliner, everything!
