Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation: Product Review

If you read my blog, you know I’m obsessed with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I’ve been wearing it for 2+ years now, and I always turn back to it for a perfect base. Although I love this foundation, I’m always trying to find the next best thing. I never, ever was into foundation before, but it seems since I found my holy grail, I’m trying to top it!

When I saw that Urban Decay was launching an All Nighter Liquid Foundation, I was really excited! I love Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Concealer, and their All Nighter Setting Spray, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this! With some help from google images, I was able to choose my shade (5 – medium, with a soft warm undertone) off of Sephora, for $49/Cdn.

I decided to try the foundation with my Tarte Bamboo Foundation Brush, and although it blended very nicely, I could tell immediately I didn’t like this foundation. It is marketed as a full coverage foundation, and boy do they mean it. It felt like I was putting a  very heavy mask on.

I’m not opposed to full coverage, Estee Lauder is definitely a full coverage foundation, but this one felt so heavy, and it made my skin feel dirty! The other issue was, I often rest my chin on my hand in meetings, and the Estee Lauder won’t budge, but unfortunately the Urban Decay left me with a patch of my face missing! See below on my right cheek! Not a good look.

And finally, the worst part of this foundation? My face broke out like a teenager! I NEVER get zits, maybe one or two every few weeks on my chin, but this was 15 zits on my entire face.. I had them on my forehead, cheeks, chin, neck, and temples, it was awful. And on top of that, my pores had never looked worse! I feel like this foundation ruined my skin. I was so disappointed, so it went back to Sephora!

Unfortunately this wasn’t the next big foundation for me. With it feeling like a heavy mask, making my entire face break out, and not lasting all day, I just can’t justify keeping this in my collection. This foundation would be for you if you have damaged skin to cover up, or are in need of something waterproof (see above! it would barely come off my hand!), but unfortunately it just didn’t work for me! On to the next one.. Or I guess I should stop trying to cheat on my beloved Estee Lauder!

Have you tried Urban Decay’s All Nighter Liquid Foundation? Did it work for you?

I’m just winging it. My life, my eyeliner, everything!
