Wet N Wild Lash Renegade Mascara: Product Review

I’m always really excited to try new products. It could be anything.. From a foundation to a lipgloss to eyeshadow palettes, it’s always really exciting to dig into something new. When I was at the Wet n Wild event a few weeks ago, I went home with about $100 worth of free makeup, and was SO excited to swatch everything and test it all out. Some of their products are great for such a low price, while others, you get what you pay for..

I wondered up to the mascara booth at the event first, and the girl working RAVED about the Lash Renegade Mascara ($5.99/Cdn) and said there’d be one in my gift bag to try at home. I was super excited about it, as my mascara was about to run out, and I’ve been trying to not buy makeup for the past few weeks (more on that later!). But also, look at that amazing packaging, how could you not be excited about it?

I was really intrigued by the wand as it is quite interesting and different from most mascaras. I have never tried a brush like this, with a separated little ball on the end and was really excited to try it out. The ball end of the brush promises to add volume with precision and control, while the slimmer part will add definition by curling and lengthening.

Here’s my lashes before and after applying the Lash Renegade Mascara:

To be honest, I am not impressed. I’m not super picky about mascara. I have pretty good eyelashes, and a lot of mascaras, both drugstore and high end, work just fine, but this one just doesn’t work on my lashes. It definitely didn’t length AT ALL. In fact, I felt like this was the worst mascara I’ve ever tried in terms of lengthening. And I really don’t think it defined them at all. I’ve been using this mascara for a few weeks, but once I apply it, I have to use a different mascara to brush my lashes apart and add some volume! This mascara just isn’t doing it for me, and I’ll be ready to purchase something new in a few days!

What’s your go-to mascara? Tell me in the comments!

Iā€™m just winging it. My life, my eyeliner, everything!
